In Georgia, you generally have two (2) years from the date of the incident to file a lawsuit against the negligent party or you lose your claim forever. This is called the “Statute of Limitations.” You have a maximum of two (2) years from the date of the incident to work up your claim and attempt to settle it before filing suit.
